To kick off production on the Year of Songs Covers album, experimental soul artist Amenta Abioto (amentavera.bandcamp.com) and I got together to record her version of Great Green God, a dark hymn to the god of wealth and assets, from the Genre ABCs segment of my 2011 Year of Songs. During that session, we produced a short album's worth of material including a couple covers of her song Higher and several collaborative improvisations. Enjoy this vibrant, strange, silly, soulful mixture!
